The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Amar Belani and the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Algiers examine the strengthening of political consultations and the promotion of bilateral cooperation.

ALGIERS- The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Amar Belani received on Thursday the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Algeria, Mr. Mohamed Marzouk Salimane Motlaq Ech-Choubou, with which he discussed ways and means of strengthening political consultations and promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields, said a statement from the Ministry.

During this meeting, the two parties highlighted the privileged fraternal relations uniting the two brotherly countries, relations that have always been marked by mixed cooperation and mutual respect.

They welcomed, at the same time, the positive momentum instilled in bilateral relations thanks to the visit of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Kuwait on February 22 and 23, 2022, particularly in terms of consolidating the coordination and political consultation between the two countries and the promotion of Algerian-Kuwaiti cooperation in the areas of economy, trade and investment.

In this regard, continues the same source, Mr. Belani and the Kuwaiti diplomat stressed "the importance of intensifying efforts to guarantee the full realization of the results of this visit, particularly with regard to the immediate activation of the bilateral cooperation mechanisms decided by the two parties on this occasion and at the head of which the joint commission on political, security and economic issues".

The two parties agreed, within the same framework, to hold a session of political consultations at the level of the Secretaries General of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

In terms of bilateral cooperation, the two parties highlighted "the need to work together to define ways and frameworks to explore and take advantage of all the promising opportunities of the Algerian market", particularly in the light of legislative guarantees, tax incentives and administrative facilitations provided for by the new investment law.

In this context, the Kuwaiti Ambassador stressed the deep attachment to the implementation of the instructions given by Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Kuwaiti Sovereign Fund (KIA) at the end of the visit of Mr. President of the Republic to the State of Kuwait, a sister country, in order to contribute to the realization of large-scale projects in Algeria.

In addition, the talks between the two parties made it possible to "exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest".

The two parties welcomed, in this respect, the convergence of views between the two countries on a number of fundamental Arab issues, at the top of which the Palestinian question, the situation in Libya and Yemen, and the question of Syria's return to the Arab League.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the SG of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the serious Zionist violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and all Islamic and Christian holy places in the city of El-Quds.

Emphasizing "the importance of unifying Palestinian ranks to confront the occupation and defeat its plans to stir up discord and stir up differences among Palestinians to serve its colonial and racist project in the occupied Palestinian territories", Mr. Belani reiterated Algeria's "attachment to continuing its efforts aimed at the reunification of Palestinian forces and factions, and to enabling Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations, in application of the resolutions of the Arab Summit held in Algiers on November 1 and 2, 2022".

The wisdom of Algerian diplomacy and the correctness of its approach to the imperative return of Syria to the Arab League hailed

Referring to Syria's return to the Arab League, the two parties welcomed the positive dynamic in relations between Syria and its Arab brother countries, a dynamic that will soon be sanctioned by Syria's return to its seat in the Arab League.

The Kuwaiti diplomat praised, in this context, the "wisdom of Algerian diplomacy and its enlightened vision concerning this file", affirming that time had proven "the correctness of the Algerian approach calling for a return of Syria to the League Arab", thus promoting the settlement of the political crisis in this country and preventing the risk of secession.

The talks between the two sides further focused on positive developments in the region, including the unwinding of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and expected outcomes in terms of consolidating regional security and mitigating and hotbeds of crisis and conflict in several countries in the region, the statement concluded.
