Biography of

Ambassador Boumediene GUENNAD

Married and father of two children.

- Diploma in Diplomacy from the National School of Administration - June 1981.

- Cambridge first certificate in English, June 1992.

Professional career :

- Trainee Secretary of Foreign Affairs from 1st to 15^th /09/1981;

- National Service, reserve officer, from 15^th /09/1981 to15th /09/1983;

- Chief of the Desk of Spain, Cyprus, Malta and Vatican at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) from 15th/09/1983 to 31st/12/1985.

- First Secretary at the Embassy of Algeria in Lusaka (Zambia) from January 1st, 1985 to August 15th, 1989. Member of the Algerian delegations to meetings hosted by Zambia within the framework of the Chairmanship of the OAU, by the late President Kenneth KAUANDA, between July 1987 and July 1988, on the situation in Southern Africa, the Chadian-Libyan border dispute and the African debt, at the levels: summit, Ministerial and experts.

- August 1989 August 1990, Cultural Counselor to the Algerian Embassy in Washington, dealing with issues of Algerian students in the U.S.A., bilateral cultural relations and the environment.

- August 1990- December 1994, Counselor, head of a Desk at the Directorate General for Arab Countries;

- January 1994 – August 1996, Deputy Director of the Arab Maghreb Union at the General Directorate of Arab countries;

- August 1996 August 1997, Counselor in charge of economic and commercial affairs at the Embassy of Algeria in Tunis;

- August 1997 August 2000, Minister Counselor, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Embassy of Algeria in Tunis;

- February 2001 - October 2004, Ambassador of Algeria in N'Djamena (CHAD);

- October 2004 - October 2005, Head of Cabinet of the Minister Delegate in charge of Maghreb and African Affairs to the Minister of Foreign Affairs;

- October 2005 – January 2010, Deputy Ambassador to the Embassy of Algeria in Rabat;

- January 2010 – January 2015, Ambassador of Algeria in Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire);

- January 2015 – October 2022, Director General Asia-Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad;

- Since October 2022, Ambassador of Algeria in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
