World Health Day: Algeria spares no effort to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

ALGIERS- The Minister of Health, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi indicated Thursday that Algeria was mobilizing all available means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the field of health by 2030.
This statement was made during the opening address of the work of the World Health Day at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health under the theme "Health for all".
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Resident Coordinator of the World Health Organization (WHO), representatives of UN organizations and experts from the sector.
"This day is an opportunity to officially reaffirm Algeria's desire to mobilize all available means for the management of projects by 2030, in particular projects for the construction of specialized hospitals", underlined the Minister.
Recalling the most important stops in Algeria, since its independence, in terms of socio-economic development as well as the efforts made in the field of health through free healthcare, Mr. Saihi emphasized "the evolution of the health sector thanks to a battery of reforms that gave rise to more than 700 health structures nationwide".
He also recalled "the notable increase in the age expectancy per individual which rose from 50 years after independence to 78 years currently, in addition to the eradication of several diseases".
And to add that "these positive results have been obtained thanks to the efforts of the State which devotes the necessary financial envelopes in order to establish a quality health system".
The Minister did not omit, on the occasion of World Health Day, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of the creation of the WHO, to thank health personnel for the efforts made, particularly during the pandemic. of Covid-19 which has claimed many victims among professionals in the sector".
