Celebration of the 61st anniversary of Victory Day March 19, 1962-March 19, 2023 at the embassy of Algeria in Uzbekistan.

As part of the commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the victory day of March 19, 1962, a ceremony of remembrance took place on March 19, 2023, at the headquarters of the Algerian Embassy in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), in the presence of Mr. Boumediene GUENNAD, Ambassador, as well as members of the Diplomatic Mission. The celebration of this Day was marked by the raising of the national colors and the singing of the national anthem, the laying of a wreath before the reading of surah el Fatiha in memory of our valiant Chouhada.

In the address delivered on this occasion, the Ambassador indicated that the commemoration of Victory Day this year, which represents the 61st anniversary, is celebrated under the slogan: Victory Day: Determination, Unity and Victory, emphasizing the symbolism that it represents in the contemporary history of Algeria, because it is the day when truth triumphed over lies. Just as it is the day when all the dreams of colonial France have evaporated, after the Algerian people have said their last word: No to colonialism, no to slavery and no to colonial domination.

He also stressed that the negotiations that led to the Evian Agreements, on March 18, 1962, were not easy, because the other side resorted to numerous attempts to impose its conditions on the National Liberation Front, but the determination and firmness of the Algerian negotiators forced the French side to accept the terms put forward for the National Liberation Front and to sign the final texts of the Evian Agreements.

He stressed, finally, that everything that is said about the flexibility of the position of the French side in the negotiations and its granting of independence, is nothing but lies, slander, and desperate attempts to diminish the magnitude and greatness of the blessed Algerian liberation revolution, pointing out that humanity has known few similar revolutions, through the ages and eras.
